Working with essential oils as an alternative path to maintaining wellness is a well established and well respected treatment in Europe. Mounting scientific evidence is even beginning to convince more open minded traditional health care professionals in the U.S. that aromatherapy is a valid science and when used knowledgeably it can promote healing and wellness.  The molecules in the essential oils activate receptors in our brain and cause neurochemical changes in the brain. Since the brain is the 'CPU' of the human body, it processes the incoming information and responds by sending signals to the body.

Aromatherapy is not about filling your environment with pretty smelling fragrances.  Many commercial producers of household cleaners have jumped on the band wagon, putting fragrance in household cleaners, candles, soaps, laundry detergents, room sprays, etc...  Consumer beware!  Always check the ingredients.  True aromatherapy is the use of REAL essential oils from plant based material.  Artificial fragrances and synthetic compounds may smell similar to the real thing, and cost a lot less, but they cannot provide any therapeutic value since they are not derived from 100% real plant ingredients.

Recently I had the opportunity to study with an expert in the field of essential oils and what I learned was fascinating.  Essential oils provide a wide range of benefits that can effect us physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I have begun experimenting with essential oils with my family and with animals and I am finding everyone responds well to this modality.  In the course I attended we learned where essential oils come from, how they are refined and distributed, their therapeutic qualities, and how to administer them effectively.  We also began to experiment with blending.  I am looking forward to the next course which will focus specifically on blending custom blends for individuals' well being and enjoyment.  Please visit back to learn more...

I plan to be able to offer customized blends for client who wish to have a personalized scent or a therapeutic blend to address a health concern.  This will be fun!
