Equine Massage CE course for Massage Therapists!
I am extremely pleased to announce that my popular two day workshop is now approved by the NCBTMB for continuing education credit. I have offered this class for many years now, initially as a horse owner / pony club workshop, and more recently as an elective for massage students and graduates at Irene's Myomassology Institute.

Horses are athletes and regardless of their job or sport, they are subject to the same types of soft tissue strains, stresses and injuries that human athletes experience. They also experience the same global health benefits from massage that humans do. Massage helps promote natural relaxation and converts subjects from a sympathetic nervous system response into a parasympathetic nervous response - moving from 'fight or flight' to 'rest and digest'. We know that massage provides a number of significant physiological benefits to the body, and this is true of horses as well as humans.

One of the wonderful results of this class is what it does for human practitioners. Working with and among horses offers us an opportunity not only for learning but also for healing. The horses are masters of emotional intelligence and offer us a glimpse into a new way of connecting with nature and ourselves through their presence.
If you are a licensed massage therapist and are interested in exploring the world of equine massage, I encourage you to consider this class.
